After a welcome address by George Hall, the presentation
of conference papers, chaired by David Roe, of new research on under-documented old mines, included : Brynyrafr, Esgairmwyn, Abbey
Consols
and environs and the Tywyn coal mine, together with new insights on
prospecting
and smelting matters.

On the Sunday there was a site visit / field trip led by members of the Society,
to Glasdir mine ‘The birthplace of the
flotation process’. Met at 10.30 am, at the carpark at NGR SH 737 227, (View
OS Map), approximately one mile from the Ty'n-y-groes Hotel.
Conference proceedings will be edited by Dave Linton, for publication in 2011.
