As to the programme of events, this was as follows:
  • Saturday 11th June - Met at 11:00 a.m. at the carpark for the Watkin Path on the A498, 2.5 to 3 miles ENE of Beddgelert, at NGR SH 628 507  (View OS Map)
In the company of the National Trust's archaeologist, a visit was made to Lliwedd Copper Mine at Cwm-erdd, NGR SH 634 531. (View OS Map)  Access to the mine involved a stiff climb - about 2,000ft. over two miles, so for those members who did not wish to make the full climb to the mine, after ascending the Watkin Path part way, some of the group diverted to look at the mines and quarries in Cwm Llan.

  • Saturday Evening - Dinner at The Royal Goat Hotel.  (View location map) Menu  The AGM was held and next years meetings agreed upon.

  • Sunday 12th June - Met at 10:45 a.m. at the head of Cwm Pennant NGR SH 5400 4915  (View : Road Atlas or OS Map) for a walk along the tramway to Cwm Dwyfor Mine at NGR SH  542 505.  (View OS Map).   For those not deterred by the rain and wind, a visit was made to the nearby Prince of Wales slate quarry.
