As to the programme of events, this was as follows:

• Saturday 18^th September - Met in lay-by  on the A485 road, between Penrhyndeudraeth and Garreg  at 11:00 a.m.    NGR SH 614 400  (View OS Map)  The walk was of the order of 4 miles, taking in the Pant y Wrach mine; a recently re-discovered bole site on the ridge above, then on east to Penrallt or Catherine & Jane mine, finally north across the spine of the ridge to Bwlch y Plwm mine.  From here a return to the cars was made along a minor road, distance about 1 mile.

• Saturday Evening - Dinner at the Marine Hotel.  NGR SH 499 378 (View location map) Menu   The AGM was held and next years meetings agreed upon.

• Sunday 19^th September - A visit to the manganese mine of Seler Ddu on the slopes of Bwlch Mawr, a mountain with its summit at NGR SH 426 478.  Met at 10:30 a.m. at a very small lay-by\passing place close to a very prominent radio station at NGR SH 437 478.  (View OS Map)

  The mine is located on the south east side of the mountain, at NGR SH 431 471.  (View OS Map)  The Seler Ddu mine is fairly small but very interesting underground, being, I feel, quite unique in  the means adopted for the support of the worked areas.  At several places, large stones of a different nature to the country rock have being carried in from the mountainside and used to construct support pillars.  The whole working appears to have been excavated using picks only, as no shot-holes are to be seen.
