As to the programme of events, this was as follows :
Saturday 21st June - The Newgale Coalfield
Met at 11:00 a.m. at the Victoria Hall carpark in Roch behind the Victoria
Inn, opposite the school at NGR SM 8715 2145

An exploration of the Newgale coalfield; mining from the
late medieval to the early 20th century, with local geological
expertise on hand to explain the geological aspects of this small outlier
at the extreme north-west of the main Pembrokeshire coalfield.

A presentation was given by Terry Evans on the Welsh Mines Preservation
Trust, after which there was some discussion regarding the pro's and con's
of merging the Trust with the WMS.
Sunday 22nd June - Rosebush and Porthgain Quarries
Met at 10:30 a.m. at the carpark in Rosebush. (Turn left in front

Lunch was available at the cafe in the village.
In the afternoon many took the option of a visit to the quarries and associated
harbour at Porthgain, 9 miles west of Fishguard. After exploring
the trackbeds of the railway serving the slate and roadstone quarries, and their associated remains, those of slightly sterner constitution
continued along the cliff tops to the flooded slate quarry at Abereiddy.
